Remote administration allows convenient monitoring and control of kiosk operation without interfering with client usage. This software provides connectivity from a central site/server to all kiosks simultaneously. It provides kiosk status, file transfer, and remote control capability and auto starts at each system reboot. Each kiosk is configured to automatically connect to your central site/server and access is password protected.

An example of using a server with a number of kiosks is a customer who has 40 kiosks in the field in several states. Each of these kiosks has an interface, lock down software and is collecting customer names, phone #’s and email address. The server has been programmed to collect this information and supply a daily report of: kiosk status, number of times used that day, average length of time a customer used the kiosk, what pages and programs the user used, to name some of the information that is reported from each computer.

The server is also used to make updates to each kiosk over the internet. Since these kiosks are in several states they have been placed into families so that each family receives different updates from the server. For this project if a kiosk did not get an update every week the kiosk would try to connect with the server for 3 days after which the kiosk would automatically shut itself down.
